Activities
The school really is the cake and the icing because it is such an exceptional school. The Parent's Group is maybe just the little roses and piping around the cake to make it just that much prettier. We meet once a month during the school year and would love for you to join us!
Fundraising is one of the most important activities of the Parent's Group. Our top fundraisers are FestiFall, Pizza Days, and the Book Fair. FestiFall, our biggest event, is a large carnival-like evening with games for the kids and a silent auction for the adults. Pizza Days are days throughout the year on which, at a small cost, the children have pizza for lunch. (The bonus: Mom doesn't have to make lunch that day!) Our Spring Book Fair is a fundraiser coordinated with Scholastic Books.
In an effort to promote goodwill in the community, the Parent's Group sponsors community support activities. Early in the school year the children have lessons on fire safety and families in the program are encouraged to bring food to the fire station when we visit. Additionally, donations for a local charity are collected at FestiFall to promote goodwill.
We want to do everything we can to help our teachers, after all, they have such a huge impact on our children's lives. One way we do that is by having Classroom Parents for each class. They help ensure parties and field trips go well by volunteering to help or encouraging other parents to help. They help with teacher birthdays and teacher appreciation week (one week in the spring that just lets the teachers know how much they mean to us).
Parent's group is a great group of caring parents and because of that, is a great help to the school.
